The lion is the king of beasts
Upon the Afrique plains he feasts.
And when he opes his mighty jaws
The whole world thunders with applause.
And when he shakes his mighty mane
The whole world cheers! and cheers again!
…This is the lion’s sweetest dream
As, in the shade, beside a stream,
He sprawls supine, farting and grunting –
And lets his missus do the hunting.
